Patriotism
Love of Country
For over 125 years, the NSDAR has carried the torch of patriotism. Love of country was the purpose; ancestors who fought for freedom was the bond that connected women to unite to form an organization that honored heritage and worked to ensure a bright future for our children. Patriotism is the foundation of the many DAR activities that take place in local communities across the country.
Supporting Our MilitaryNew Hampshire Daughters are active in supporting our active-duty military and veterans through a variety of service projects. Volunteers collect items for local Veterans Administration (VA) hospitals and for those serving overseas. Daughters volunteer as "Pease Greeters", welcoming home troops who pass through New Hampshire and greet our veterans who participate in the Honor Flight Network.
New Hampshire DAR is proud to be a member of the Vietnam War Commemoration and of our own Fallen Heroes Moving Wall. This nine-panel display honors the 228 New Hampshire service men and women who lost their lives in Vietnam. Nationally, NSDAR provides a variety of support for our military and veterans. Constitution WeekDAR sponsors special programs and public service announcements during the week of September 17-23 to help inform and educate the public about this document which is fundamental to our society.
