New Hampshire State Organization, NSDAR
America250!
The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) was founded in 1890 and is headquartered in Washington, D.C. The DAR is a non-profit, non-political, volunteer women's service organization – the largest in the United States. Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background who can prove direct lineal descent from a Patriot of the American Revolutionary War, is eligible for membership.

Since the organization’s founding in 1890, over one million members have been admitted into membership. The New Hampshire State Organization was founded in 1892. Join us as we celebrate the United States Semiquincentennial!

The Benefits of Membership

What We Do--You Can Too!

Join Today!
New Hampshire Daughters, descendants of ordinary women and men who achieved extraordinary things, share a common bond of ancestry and are proud of their heritage and the role of their ancestors, who risked their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor in establishing our great country. We honor their sacrifices through the volunteer work of our members in the mission areas of DAR. Each year DAR members provide MILLIONS of hours of service to their communities.

Our Objectives

Education

Education

The NSDAR is committed to education. DAR members are passionate about education through the promotion of the Children of the American Revolution (C.A.R.), DAR Good Citizens Award and Scholarship Essay Contest and Junior American Citizens. The National Society DAR and the New Hampshire State Organization DAR also provide scholarships and awards to outstanding students, teachers, and members who work tirelessly to support their local schools. Learn more about how DAR members support education.

Patriotism

Patriotism

New Hampshire Daughters are active in supporting our active-duty military and veterans through a variety of service projects. Volunteers collect items for local Veterans Administration (VA) hospitals and for those serving overseas. Daughters volunteer as "Pease Greeters", welcoming home troops who pass through New Hampshire and greet our veterans who participate in the Honor Flight Network.
New Hampshire DAR is proud to be a member of the Vietnam War Commemoration and of our own Fallen Heroes Moving Wall ceremonies. Learn more about how DAR members support patriotism.

Historic Preservation

Historic Preservation

New Hampshire Daughters support historic preservation efforts through awards, grants, and contests.
Members participate in various projects to help preserve the cultural heritage of the United States, including preserving documents, buildings, and placing markers at locations of historic significance.
New Hampshire is proud to maintain the New Hampshire Children's Attic, one of multiple period rooms at the DAR Museum, located in Memorial Continental Hall in Washington, D.C.

Symbol

Our symbol for this administration is a copy of the relief designed by Norman Rockwell that adorns the top of the Cathedral of the Pines Bell Tower. This image honors our sisters in arms through the ages. Funds raised in this administration will help restore the Bell Tower and the bronze reliefs.

Scripture

Revelations 22:2
In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of Life, which bare twelve manner of fruit, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
